Dear Manhattan University Community,
I am thrilled and honored to have been named the new Dean of the O’Malley School of Business. My journey at Manhattan University started in 2000, and I became a professor of economics and finance in 2010. I chaired the Department of Economics and Finance from 2010 to 2018 and was named the Louis F. Capalbo Professor of Business and Ambassador Charles A. Gargano Endowed Chair in 2013. It was also my honor to have served as the Interim Dean of the OMSB for the last eight months. Over the last twenty-five years, I have been fortunate to work at a vibrant institution deeply committed to inclusive practices, academic excellence, and strong moral standards.
I firmly believe that OMSB has significant growth potential. The transformation of our school is already in progress, driven by our talented faculty, visionary administration, and dedicated alums. Our AACSB-accredited institution will soon offer an Executive MBA and four master’s degrees in Business Analytics, Financial Analytics, Digital Marketing and Analytics, and Accounting and Analytics. Additionally, we are undertaking a comprehensive curriculum revision for our undergraduate degrees to include artificial intelligence and machine learning as essential components in our teaching. We also are launching joint programs with the School of Engineering and the KAKOS School of Arts and Sciences.
Our programs at OMSB are designed to prepare students for competitive and evolving job markets by focusing on interdisciplinary education, critical thinking, and developing soft and technical skills. We will accomplish this with the strong support of our alumni and business partners.
I sincerely thank President Frederick Bonato, Provost Kenneth Sumner, Dr. Rani Roy, my esteemed colleagues, and the School of Business Advisory Board for their trust and support.
We have much to do, great opportunities, and exciting new developments. I am genuinely grateful to be given this opportunity, and I look forward to collaborating with you to bring the O’Malley School of Business to even greater heights.
Dr. Hany Guirguis
